Oracles exist to support the aspects of reality they represent and claim for their vessels.
It is unknown if Oracles exist with any sort of conscious thought, or if they're simply omnipotent cogs necessary for the function of the reality known by mortals.
It is also unknown if the destruction of an Oracle would destroy all that it Speaks* of. That being said, it is difficult to define that which an Oracle Speaks of. Divine Architects within mortal reach are any resident's best guess for understanding the respective Oracle a Divine Architect is bound to. At times, the Spoken elements seem to overlap between Oracles, which some theorize could indicate a deep connection between known Oracles.

*Oracles preside over a number of aspects of reality, including physical matter, natural laws, emotions and consciousness, as well as concepts - they essentially represent anything that could potentially have an impact on a conscious being and that beyond the reach of mortal eyes. For this they are also referred to as Speakers of things which they claim authority.
It is by nature that mortal beings will try to explain what occurs in their own reality, and perhaps that which exists outside of what they know. Worship of Divine Architects is a practice proven to be beneficial to sentient populations. Bountiful harvests, the fortune of stability, protection from nature and the unknown – the practice of Worship has often been the foundation for the growth and prosperity of nations. Though, there are questions to be asked...
...and as long as any question persists, there will be mortals searching for answers. As Worship and population affinity act as a foundation for the development of many societies, theories, ideas and questions establish a foundation for discovery, and scientific and psychological advancement, which can prove to be both great and disastrous over the course of time.
